When I was a kid, like all the other kids, I read and even traded comic books...but, I guess the history teacher was already developong inside me...I started to collect more and trade less...and not Archie or Micky Mouse comics were the ones I saved. I kept the history related ones, especially WW I, II, and Korea. GI Combat, Our Army At War, and so on were the ones. My pals were the crew of the Haunted Tank, Gunner and Sarge, Sargeant Rock and the rest of the gang. There were two series of comic books that I knew of then, in the 1950s that were the ancestors of the graphic novels of today. I cannot remember the publishers of both, but one was DELL. They both employed an artist named Sam Glantzman, a WWII veteran himself. His art was super detailed and accurate. Wayne Vansant carries on the tradition. Other reviewers have mostly praised the series of "Graphic Novel History books" he is creating. I agree with their positive comments 100 %. I can really find nothing in the works to criticize, and I notice younger kids are reading these too...not a bad situation, given the fact that the non-educators who drive American education are cutting back on a lot of US history, as well as material in all subjects. If this will get the young adults to learn and question events in history, all the better! Again, I cannot recommend these any more positively. I hope Mr. Vansant has a long list of future volumes as well done as those so far. Many thanks to Amazon for making them available, and they arrived in perfect condition .

Vansant's drawings humanize a lot of the action and episodes I've read about again and again in all the histories of the Ardennes Offensive ('The Battle of the Bulge'). I particularly liked the one of Model and von Runstedt sharing their private reservations about Hitler's overly ambitious plans. The whole sequence of Hitler unveiling his plans to the staff is highly dramatic as are the battlefield scenes at the Twin Villages and along Col. Jochen Peiper's march route. Of course, if you're a Bulge enthusiast, you may disagree with some of the details and emphasis in Vansant's cartoon narrative, but as a good general introduction and chronology for younger readers and even adult audiences, this handy little volume is excellent. Wish Hollywood would use Vansant's story boards to produce a really dramatic rendering of the Battle of the Bulge instead of all the historically inaccurate films out there.

I was intrigued by the idea that graphic books would take on subjects like these, with a level of detail intended for adults. This is probably the most complete and clear account of the Battle of the Bulge that I have ever read, and its graphic treatment makes it both fast-moving and vivid. You get a real feel for the terrain, the weather, the geography, and the positions and movements of both Allied and German units. I think a lot of history lends itself to this kind of treatment, and there are readers who will enjoy it, who would never pick up some doorstop of a history tome about the same subject. I would recommend this, including for high school or even good-reading middle school students. Reading it took me back to two different experiences: reading Classic Comics treatments of novels, and, stylistically, the Sergeant Rock and Sergeant Fury comic book series of my youth, that visually portrayed World War II for kids.

I bought this for our 9 yo son who is fascinated at this time with WWII history.These history comic books share knowledge in a way that's captivating for boys who don't necessarily enjoy reading chapter books.Our son learns a lot and shares with us what he's learned.These books aren't in the school or public libraries at this time, so you'll need to purchase them until they're available to check out.

As with all Vansant's books, the illustrations are excellent. The amount of information regarding this historic battle is evidence of a well thought out, well researched account. I thoroughly enjoyed this read.

Was very hard to read in the format of a comic book. Enjoyed the story line; however, on Kindle the letters were sometimes quite small

My grandson loves the interactive nature of these books. Very cute and good writing. Thank you for letting us read them for free.

We had a rough start to the new year, my son ended up with a trip to the ER and thanks to kindle unlimited we found a Sammy book. We probably read 10 that night and he still loves these books as bedtime stories. This was his favorite one so far even though he did have to get out of bed and floss with Sammy.

The book's description sounds wonderful for any dance history class. However, it is so superficial in coverage of the time periods that it covers - spits out single sentence descriptions of various things that happened during a decade without any effort to connecting the events to what was going on in dance. It definitely leaves a lot up to the instructor of the course to help students make those important connections. I also found the organization awkward.

I am currently piloting a dance history class with 7th graders in our middle school magnet program. I chose this text after reading reviews and checking out the previews online, and it did not disapoint! It is well organized, easy to use, and has great information. I particularly love all the internet connections. Although the students do not have a copy of the text (we do not have the funding for textbooks at this time) I have been able to use this text as a guideline for my instruction and lectures. I have also used the websites and other suggestions provided in the book. My only "complaint" is that in looking ahead, it really only includes ballet and modern in the sections of 20th century dance. I will most likely seek out an additional text that covers jazz/musical theater/tap when we get to the 20th century. I just hope I can find a text that is as thorough and interactive as this one!

This book does NOT present the history of dance. It chronicles the history of classical ballet. I'm a grad student pursuing a degree in dance education. This book only gives information on the history of European dance and how that made its way to America. Not a good book for a dance educator.

I am using this textbook for my senior daughter's last History Class of high school. So much more than just dance, or one form of dance even, this text covers all aspects of the culture in which the development of dance took place. With extra Internet links for further study, I am assured that my student will not lack for opportunities to really dive into the subject and get a comprehensive picture of the art, culture, geography and overall history of the times. As a future dance major, I feel this text will prepare her well for college-level classes in her field of study at the same time that it fulfills high school history requirements.

I used to be an avid reader. I was blessed to be read to every night, as a child. Then, as a pre-teen and all through the years, you could always find my nose buried in a book. But I also happen to suffer from severe depression, and at some point, I'm not sure why, I totally lost interest in reading. I wanted to read again, but I could never find anything that captured my interest. I somehow stumbled upon the "cozy mystery" genre, and Pancakes and Corpses was my very first cozy. I have enjoyed it completely, and I've already started Lemonade and Lies! I enjoy the refresshing innocence, the "friendly" vibe - the coziness! I feel so happy, and so very much looking forward to many, many more hours of happy reading ahead. Agatha, if you happen to read this review, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for re-igniting my passion for a good book!

Agatha Frost has written an intriguing and delightful cozy mystery with the setting in a small village named Peridale. I thoroughly enjoyed her characters, and life in a small village is exactly as she's written. While following the typical form of a cozy mystery, Ms. Frost has added depth to her characters and the community that is less common. I especially enjoyed the fact that I couldn't determine the murderer until the heroine unveiled that person, which is also uncommon. Any reader of cozy mysteries will enjoy this book. My mouth is watering for some of the yummy sounding baked goods, too. Delightful!

It has been a long time since I'd read a book where the setting was in England. Brought back memories of living just north of London in the early 70's.The story and plot was interesting but there were a couple of details that stood, a minor one was baking the cakes for the cafe with a cat in the kitchen, unheard of in the US. "Cookies" was used instead of biscuits. Interesting change for the American reader! Toward the end the grammar started to slip, e.g. "Her and...." maybe an oversight and a rush to finish. I look forward to the next book!

This is a promising start of a new series. I found this book by coincidence. I was leaving a review for another cozy I just read add saw this one in the list of "also bought" books on amazon. The pretty cover caught my attention and I decide to give it a try. I am glad I decided to pick this one up, I had some small issues with it, but overall this was just a lot of fun to read and I am eager to continue the series. It fit the kind of read I was in the mood for.The book follows Julia who recently came back to her hometown and started her own café. I always like reading about characters who own their own business and even better if there's also food involved. The pace of this book was well done. The focus mostly was on the mystery and I would've liked to see a bit more about the café and the characters, but there were a few side plot lines besides the murder. I especially was invested in the side plot line about the thief who steals cakes. It was a nice twist when we figure out who is behind it.The mystery was pretty well done. At times it felt like I got a lot of clues, but couldn't piece them together. I also read this one very quickly and didn't take as much time to try and figure things out. I was surprised when I found out who the murderer was, but looking back I could see some clues pointing in that direction. Some of the clues seemed a bit far fetched though. But overall it was a fun mystery.I liked how much of the focus was on solving the mystery, although on the other hand I also would've liked to see a few more side plot lines. Yes I know I am contradicting myself. There were some nice twists and surprises in how the mystery progressed. One thing that bothered me a bit was how we didn't get to see one of the final clues. Julia reads something and thinks she figured it out, but we the reader don't get to know what she read or what she plans to capture the murderer. I am not a fan of that sort of scenes. I did like how in the end everything came to light and we got some more information about it all.I liked getting to know Julia and some of the other citizens in this small town. I would've liked to get to know Julia and some side characters a bit more in depth, but I think that will come eventually in the later books. We get a bit of a feel of some people who live here and I am looking forward to spending more time in this town. I liked the banter between Julia and detective Barker, it was a nice touch and I am thinking there might be a possible romance later on. There was enough description of the town for me to get a bit of a feel for how it looked and form an imagine in my head, although it didn't come as alive as I hoped.To summarize: this was a very promising start of a new series. I enjoyed reading this book and quickly read through it. The mystery was well done and I hadn't figured out who the murderer was. there were some nice twist and background information and some personality things that got uncovered during the investigation. I would've liked to get to know the characters a bit better, but I think that might happen in future books. There was a lot of focus on the mystery, which was nice, although at times I would've liked to see a bit more focus on the other aspects as well. The story kept my attention and I enjoyed the book. It was a fun read and I am looking forward to the next books in this series.

A decent cozy mystery, but nothing special to set it apart from any other cozy. The plot was basic, the characters stereotypical and the writing average. (Except for wishing the author had a thesaurus to find another word beyond smug to describe the handsome - another overused word - policeman. Fine enough to read before bed, but did not leave me wanting to know more about the heroine.

Pancakes and Corpses: A Peridale Mystery by Agatha Frost is an exciting new series. I love the main character, Julia. She's a divorced women returning back to her hometown. Here, in Peridale, Julia is baking. Baking is her passion. But then, her cakes go missing...and a dead customer turns up...which then, catches the unwanted attention of the new detective. Something about him, puts Julia off in more than one way.I've read a few other book witinnthis series before this one, and I was easily able to follow along. The mystery in each book is different and thrilling to follow. Julia is the best baker. Her hometown, Peridale, is small but sets forth a variety of interesting characters. Intriguing, fun, hilarious, sweet, and sometimes deadly. Pancakes and Corpses is a must read for all. Action, adventure, and a murder case to solve. I couldn't stop reading it. Agatha Frost is a talented writer. Her pages flew by fast.

Exactly the book I wanted - and room for more recipes if they want to do a second edition. She recommends using a flour blend that is hard to find, Steve's - it's available on on Amazon but shipping is significant. The other choice is making her blend - but some recipes specify Steve's. Still, it's exciting to have all the GF choices. I've converted many recipes myself, not all work well, so I'm eager to try her approach. Some of these items are not conversions, they are inherently GF, like macarons. And many of these pastries are challenging to make well with consistent success. If you are already a serious baker and want to create GF items this one is worth the investment.

As a person with celiac disease, you are always trying to find something that tastes good. I have already made 3 recipes and the outcome was delicious. Some of them are complicated but totally worth spending the time and doing them right. I do recommend following the recipes 100%. Get a scale, you will need it.

Flaky pie crust, buttery brioche, crispy cookies with no grit!!! I couldn't be happier with this book. I honestly don't care about having to buy the pricey flour, it has been worth every penny to enjoy baked goods that taste the way they are supposed to, and I do recommend the flour blend to avoid the grittiness (especially for the cookies). I have enjoyed every recipe I have tried and look forward to trying them all. I don't think it's possible to overstate how enjoyable the brioche was, it brought tears to my eyes the first time I ate it.Also, as a former pastry chef, this book is written in a style that allows for endless variations. These base doughs can be used for all kinds of classic applications. So if you wish to expand your repertoire you can look into classic french pastry and easily come up with hundreds of new ways to use what is here.

Gorgeous book with tons of exciting treats for a former baker gone gluten-free. Here you'll find recipes that no other GF baker/cookbook dares to try replicating, and Austin does so with ease and beauty. I tried the chocolate macaron recipe and the dark chocolate ganache so far to excellent reviews, and can't wait to experiment further. Thank you for putting so much time and effort into such a beautiful, useful book. I am so happy to have this on my cookbook shelf, the one in the kitchen, with all the favorites, close at hand. +Note that the GF flour the book recommends is hard to find/expensive to ship on Amazon, so I have not tried the recipes with her recommended flour blend, but I've found King Arthur's GF All-Purpose blend worked so far!

So grateful for this book. I am an avid baker, obsessed really. When suddenly falling ill a few years ago, the one and only thing that continually made me sick while healing was gluten. This book is my legit baking bible. I adore French patisserie, and was so saddened thinking I would never enjoy perfectly buttery treats such as croissants, eclairs and my all time favorite financiers. This book is extremely well written, wonderfully guided so anyone can be a "boulanger" in their own kitchen. Thank you! I am eating a slice of melt-in-your-mouth lemon pound cake as I write. Man, I will never feel left out again.

I've had tremendously good luck with the financiers, madeleines, macarons, and brioche recipes, which have all turned out excellently. (5 stars!) I will be repeating these for the rest of my baking gf life. Great explanations of technique with the recipes for macarons!I am attempting to bake the croissant recipe (right now) & there is definitely some sort of error with the amount of flour or liquids in the original recipe. It really is SOUP! I just had to add ~ 1.5 Cups of additional flour (I weighed the ingredients as I started the recipe, but stopped weighing and eyeballed to consistency when rolling) just to be able to get the dough to a non-liquid consistency to be able to roll it out. I'm now 1/2 way through the turns for 1/2 of the dough.I'm hoping someone (publisher? author?) can update us here what the correct amounts of flour are for the butter block and dough. (& How to unstick the butter block from the parchment? At the amounts given in the recipe, my butter block was ~ 1/8 of an inch thick. Will update after I taste the croissants...

I am so disappointed by this book. I bought it primarily to learn how to make puff pastry GF. The recipe calls for 1-1/3 c. of the flour mixture with some small amount of potato flour (not starch) and small amounts of chia powder, salt and baking powder. Also TWO CUPS of cream. What a nightmare. I should have trusted my experience and instincts and used 1/2 cup instead. The author describes the resulting dough as needing ADDITIONAL cream, a tablespoon at a time. She said to pour it in steadily. Ugggghhh. I have SOUP! Also, I wasted a cup of butter for the butter block. Incidentally, she recommends whipping the butter, then molding it, then firming it up, etc. Even using GF flour in a recipe for puff without doing all of that (just bashing the butter--much more satisfying!) I had better results. Additionally, the recommendations for ingredients are VERY expensive. For example, she recommends almond paste for frangipani, which can cost a lot for a pithivier. The frangipani on The Great British Baking Show Master Class does the same thing with butter, flaked and ground almonds and sugar. And the Authentic flour really costs for shipping. What a bomb. Save your money. Test Kitchen GF books, Annalise Roberts books are great.

I have a number of gluten-free baking cookbooks, but this one has proven to be the best. The recipes I have made, so far, are absolutely delicious. Most of the recipes are easy, while others have stretched my baking abilities in wonderfully new directions.

I was introduced to Martin Seligman during a University class called "Positive Psychology". To those that are unfamiliar with the sub-field, positive psychology is an offshoot of traditional psychology. It focuses on different aspects of psychology, like how we can live happier, healthier, more productive, and more fulfilled lives.Learned Optimism sets out on a quest to change a fundamental aspect of human personality. While we have all been asked the question, "Is the glass half empty or half full?", who knew a book could help change your answer? Is that an overstatement? Absolutely not.Seligman explains that people have different ways of explaining events. When an event happens, it can be seen as neutral. The milk spilled; WE are the ones who say that is a 'good' or 'bad' thing. While many self help books try to address the issue of positivity, they advocate blindly holding an optimistic attitude. I have read many pop psychology and self help books, ranging from "The Power of Positive Thinking" to "How to Win Friends and Influence People", to "Think and Grow Rich" (I'm still trying this one - no luck so far). Some of these self-help books advocate an almost faith-based approach to changing one's behavior. Simply will something, and if you desire it enough, you can manifest it! Allow your inner thoughts and desires to carve out your external world! Think positive and you can do anything!I believe Zig Ziglar said that no matter how positive somebody was, if they aren't a certified cardiovascular surgeon, he wouldn't trust them to give him open heart surgery! I agree, and I think positive thinking without realism, prudence, and planning is pointless. In Learned Optimism, this problem is addressed. Seligman points out that being positive isn't something you turn on and keep on 24/7. When a bad thing happens, an optimistic person doesn't paint over it, declaring "It will be totally fine, I'm happy!". The difference is that an innate optimist would say that negative events are external and temporary.This distinction is an incredible revelation, and we all do this to an extent! When treated rudely, perhaps by a clerk, a pessimist might declare that "People are rude, this is the way things are.", and that the clerk "Was a jerk". They might be upset or offended, taking the clerk's actions as an attack toward them. An optimist, according to Seligman, THINKS differently. They might say "THIS (particular) Clerk is acting rude." He or she "must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed."This difference in explanatory style was the key concept I took away from this book. While events simply occur, one's interpretation can be positive or negative. So if it's a choice, then how do we change from being pessimistic to being optimistic?You'll have to read the book to find out. Either way, just know that while positive psychology is a new field, I gained more from this scientifically accredited book than I did reading 5 self-help books. Apply the concepts and principles within, and you might just surprise yourself! :)

It's a little early to say, but I have just started applying the thought framework this book suggests and I'm seeing positive change on the first day. I've felt very stuck in various aspects of my life for about five years now, and I've tried life coaching, counseling, reading other self help books etc with little change. This book is helping me realize that across all the spheres of my life I feel stuck in, I've developed really negative beliefs. I have a hard time accomplishing work goals, and believe myself lazy. I often forget to call my loved ones, and believe myself selfish. What I'm seeing now is that these negative thoughts have consequences--they're causing an immobility, depression spiral. I believe myself to be lazy, and I have a harder time working because of it. I think of myself as selfish, assume my friends will be angry with me when I do call them, and so avoid making the calls.Maybe I'm not lazy, selfish, or depressed--I just have a system of negative thoughts that are making me feel disempowered and helpless. It's becoming clear that my thinking is VERY cyclically pessimistic; I even feel a clenching in my chest every time I return to one of my negative beliefs. But even today, the first day I've consulted with this book, I've used some of its technique to challenge my negative thinking, with positive results. I'd been putting off returning a friend's text because I thought he might be upset with me, but just examining that belief made me realize how knee-jerk and baseless it is. Having reoriented myself, I texted him back.It's one small step but that felt VERY powerful. I already did feel compelled to reattribute much of my depression as pessimism, and if I do that there will be ways to positively change every thought I have. All we are is the set of assumptions we make about the world, and I'm amazed at how little I've been examining my own assumptions.I am so happy I bought this book. Take a look at the preview and see if it resonates with you; it did with me because it's so research-based, not airy or cheerful at all. Just useful and powerful. If you struggle with any sort of depression or ineffectiveness, I recommend you give those first few pages a read. It really might give us all a way to get better.

Everyone at risk of pessimism or depression, every parent should read this book. It makes perfect sense to me as a father of a teenage boy struggling with depression. The key take-way is: optimism is a choice, a learnable skill and attitude. It does not change facts. But it does change how you feel about and deal with them.

This is a classic book about how to use positive thinking to change your life for the better. Author Martin Seligman is credited for creating "positive psychology," although I am sure the truth is actually more complicated than that. But Seligman certainly is the person who has put out the commercial books on the subject that the public has heard of. The problem with this book for me is that the title and description of the book: "Learned Optimism: How to Change Your Mind and Change Your Life," is not very accurate.I found that most of the book discusses Seligman's career and prior research in psychology, then goes in to great detail about his research and what he has learned from it. But what is missing is the practical component, taking Seligman's research results and transforming them into instructions and advice that readers can actually use to improve their lives. The book is lacking in that area.

About the Author

Ted Lewin grew up in an old frame house in Buffalo, New York, with two brothers, one sister, two parents, a lion, an iguana, a chimpanzee, and an assortment of more conventional pets. The lion was given to his older brother, Don, while he was traveling as a professional wrestler, and he shipped it home. The family kept Sheba in the basement fruit cellar until Don returned and their mother convinced him to give it to the Buffalo zoo. Ted always knew he wanted to be an illustrator. As a child he copied the work of illustrators and painters he admired, including N. C. Wyeth, Winslow Homer, John Singer Sargent, Velázquez, and Goya. When it came time to go to art school (Pratt), he needed to earn money to finance his education. So, following in his brother’s footsteps, he took a summer job as a wrestler -- the beginning of a 15-year part-time career that eventually inspired his autobiographical book I Was a Teenage Professional Wrestler. Ted’s career as an artist began with illustrations for adventure magazines, and it’s only over the last several years that he has devoted his time to writing and illustrating children’s books. "I’m having more fun doing this than anything I’ve ever done before," he says. He is an avid traveler, and many of his books are inspired by trips to such places as the Amazon River, the Sahara Desert, Botswana, Egypt, Lapland, and India. I gave this a 5 star rating for many reasons: the book arrived much earlier than expected and in perfect condition! I bought a few copies to give as gifts for friends in teaching/childcare professions and for friends who are having kids of their own. I recently went to Egypt to travel around, and after being there, and reading this book, I can't imagine a book having better illustrations. The font is classic black color and great size (easy to read and not distracting for kids at all). I can't write enough about the illustrations- they are so incredibly lifelike, that you really feel like you're in the streets of Cairo while reading it. I would recommend this book for gift giving, or for kids 4th grade and under. I would also recommend this for anyone who wants to spark a curiosity and appreciation for cultures in children at an early age.

I agree with all the reviews here, and I want to add that even if you ignored the multicultural exposure this book provides it is a mesmerizing and fun read. My three year old girl loves it, along with my five year old girl. The pictures are beautiful, the words enchanting, the ideas positive(everyone needs a quiet moment to think during their day). The gentle exposure to the concept that there are kids out there who need to work (it's very uplifting, my kids are very sensitive and it doesn't bother them because it's all provided in context).

Excellent…my 4 year old grandson "got it". Powerful cultural message…gently conveyed. Marvelous illustrations.

This book is well written and illustrated and will always be a constant reminder of my days living and working in Egypt. I have gladly shared this book with many of my friends and colleagues and will continue to do so. Proud to add it to my collection of memorabilia of my life in Egypt.

This is a beautiful, quiet book with gorgeous watercolor illustrations. I love this book, but unfortunately my preschoolers had no interest in it. Oh well, I will treasure it!

This is a very sweet book. I got it because I wanted my book-loving, half-Arab children to read good quality books with Arab characters, and I wasn't disappointed.

For anyone interested in knowing about the "other" long distance dog race in the north this is the book.

I will be heading out as a dog handler on my first yukon quest in a few weeks and decided to read this book. I enjoyed the look at it from the outlook of someone outside the race itself. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in the sport or not. It's a good read and reinforces the connections between the dogs and the musher.

A stirring adventure in dogsled racing; a magnificent portrayal of the faith and trust which dogs have in humans and the tests of endurance of the 38 men and women who participate in the Yukon Quest International Race. Well written and detailed, difficult to put down.

Reading "Yukon Alone" gave me the hint of the thrill of mushing across a frozen landscape that I could never hope to experience in my home state. Balzar's talent in describing the scenery gave me goosebumps. His characters were true to life. The best book I have read in years.

John Balzar is first and foremost a reporter, with a reporter's unerring nose for news. So it should come as no surprise that word of the Yukon Quest, a 1,023-mile dog sled race through some of the coldest and most challenging terrain in the world, would capture his attention and get him started on the trail of a good story. What was a surprise, as much to Balzar as to his readers I suspect, was the degree to which the race and its participants came to matter. Quirky, devoted to a sport that doesn't translate well to television, and immersed in a way of life that 90% of the population can't begin to fathom, the people Balzar meets when he first heads north have "the power to fascinate."Following the advice of George "Skip" Brink, a construction worker who volunteers at the race, Balzar stops taking notes, sets aside his writing tools, and asks what he can do to help out with the race. Thus begins his stint as a pooper-scooper and veterinary assistant at the race, in which he slowly comes to realize that he is there to learn as much about himself as about the race.Yukon Alone is full of Balzar's characteristically insightful and amusing observations on life as he sees it, but it is not as polished or self-assured as some of his other work. In fact, the reader gets the distinct impression that Balzar is flying by the seat of his pants, figuring things out as the story progresses, which lends an immediacy and intensity to the writing. We are there, for instance, when he loses control of his dogsled team and ends up in a heap on the side of a trail with a nasty gash in his head. We stand by and watch with embarrassment as he asks a friend to fly him to see a woman friend, even though he knows he is risking both their lives. Here is a story that has much to say about what motivates and sustains us, and the importance of meaningful relationships with other creatures and the land. No doubt you will be amused and disgusted, shocked and dismayed, thrilled and touched by this book. The one thing you will not be is bored, which is one of the highest compliments I can pay Balzar.

Palliative care, according to the text, is increasingly integrated with all of medicine and is broadening beyond the hospice setting. As a textbook, or a medical reference manual, the book is appropriate. But, for general reading and an accurate picture for what actually happens in most medical delivery settings, it is lacking. The opiate death affliction and the benzodiazepine prescribing lack of precaution has poisoned the atmosphere for prescriptive palliative care for many years into the future. In fact the new hysteria initiating prescriber fear leaves many patients suffering. The heightened pharmacological conservatism also leaves valuable treatment modes not distributed, as with Ketamine. The extensive treatment of the palliative care subject in the book, still fails to address the role of politics in medical treatment and its reasoned judgment of the close interaction between doctor and patient.
