This is the best written book on Umbria I have read. It is an in depth exploration by a writer who truly appreciates Umbria, and it shows.

good book. prompt delivery

For those who read THE SEASONS OF ROME and enjoyed it, as I did, UMBRIA will most likely be a disappointment. If you enjoy travelogues then you may yet like this book. I, on the other hand, do not care where every little painting of the Madonna resides, or where St. Francis spent every night when he was outside his normal abode, ad nauseum. The author writes as if those who read his pennings are completely clueless as to current events (i.e. the earthquake which destroyed many historic sites) and then goes on to leave out much of what it was that made the headlines! In summary, not worth the bother, frankly.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and had to make the purchase after having read it the first time from the local library. I am a frequent traveler to Italy, and have been to Umbria only once, over the course of several days. I was fortunate enough to stay in a lovely apartment in Orvieto and explore the nearby hamlets and countryside. This book has proven an invaluable resource to me as one who is trying to learn as much as possible about this magnificent but sometimes overlooked region. I am grateful to Paul Hoffman for offering not only a bird's eye view of Umbria, but for including the rich history of this region. I will be returning to Umbria in the Autumn, with this book in hand. Invaluable.

Bought this after seeing the author interviewed by Dr. Mercola. At first I thought that this protocol was a lot to do, but not so hard after I got into it. I've been doing this for a few weeks and feel a lot better. I'm going to keep at it. There is lots of contradictory information on the internet about Candida, but Dr. Chaitow seems to strike a good balance. It does require effort and some self control with the diet, but I'm pretty happy with the way I am feeling now. I recommend this book.

This is the best book out there regarding this subject. Thorough program, easy to understand. Highly recommend.

I bought this because Dr. Mercola recommended it. In my opinion, not a lot of ground breaking information here. More of a very basic overview of a laundry list of all the natural stuff out there that has been used for candida.
