Do Not buy this, the book is so out of date relative to the current Office365 environment it is worthless. All the links are no good and many of the quoted tools were discontinued before it was printed, that is only the first two chapters..

Out of date reference for Office 365 and not really that useful if you are planning to use to supplement for the 70-346 or 70-347 tests with study material.

The book covers the how-to steps for setting up Office 365 and many of the various dependencies typical of an enterprise scenario. Where it falls short is on the architecture and concepts. For as many pages as it contains, much of that paper is consumed with screen shots of licensing agreements, which is just a distraction for more advanced users. I would have preferred that space be used to describe the architecture components in more depth. The book is great for what it is and recommended for people needing the introduction to O365 in an enterprise scenario.

It is a well presented book about office 365 and although it’s constantly changing, authors have made an attempt to keep it up-to-date as much as possible. The book takes you through the preparation stages to various models that can be used for leveraging the cloud solutions. I would consider it as a good guide for anyone who needs to learn about the Office 365 offering and also some of the vital administration aspects involved in managing such solutions.

This is a very good technical book. If you are like me and have been trying to understand Office 365 administration from the available online documentation, you will find this book to be very clarifying. The copious use of screen shots is also very nice.One draw back and why I cannot give a 5 star rating is that DLP and IRM are completely omitted. In an enterprise implementation these controls are critical and this book does not address them in the least.

The author repeats herself again and again and everything could have been said in about half the space, however, the information is very valuable so I do recommend reading this book.

His long novelette (also in this collection), "The Man in the High Castle" (Hugo Award winner, 1963) is an alternate-past story that posits a post WWII America in which the Germans and Japanese have won the war, and divided the United States between them -- the Nazis ruling the East from the Atlantic to the Eastern Great Plains, and the Japanese annexing all of the US from the Pacific Coast nearly to the Rockies, the great space between their empires a sort of ungoverned -- and ungovernable -- no-man's-land of malcontents, criminals, spies, and survivalists. The overarching plot is that the Nazis, not content with half of America, want to destroy the Japanese Empire, considering Asians an inferior race, like the Jews, Slavs, Poles, and Gypsies. A touchstone for Dick in writing " "The Man in the High Castle" was Ward Moore's 1953 "Bring The Jubilee," another alternate-reality novel in which the South has won the Civil War.

This volume contains the heavy-hitters like Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, and Ubik. Like all Library of America books, the proportions and build quality are impeccable. Regarding the content of this collection: I have found a new favorite author. Without question one of the best existential books on what it means to live. The stories takes a little while to get up and moving, but once they get into gear the themes they discuss come alive in well-articulated prose that encourages introspection and contemplation. This book is moving, thoughtful, and as philosophical as the reader chooses. Certainly a recommended purchase.

Interesting novels. The best is Man in the High Castle, as among the novels in this volume, it tells the most interesting and well-constructed tale, serving Dick's theme of altered or dubious reality and consciousness subtly, with the surprise realization at the very end of the book by the main character. The other novels are interesting but more surreal and far-fetched. "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" only tenuously resembles the movie based upon it - "Blade Runner" with Harrison Ford.

After watching Blade Runner for the bazillionth time last week I decided finally to read Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? I bought the LOA volume because I love the quality of the binding and printing of their publications.................I am not a fan of SF literature at all and cannot compare Dick to any of his peers...when I read genre fiction I read American crime fiction with the Killer Inside Me and POP 1280 by Jim Thompson as the apex of that style.This book literally blew my mind..............it is so different from the screenplay adapted from it..........it is funnier, more horrifying, and much more thought provoking than Blade Runner............the earth is certainly a nastier and dirtier place than the earth in the movie. The scene where Deckard buys a goat on impulse is one the funniest things I have ever read. The scene where Pris tortures a small spider is one of the most sickening things I have ever read. The scene where the talented opera singing replicant is retired is one the saddest things I have read. A woman or andy who can sing Mozart roles like Donna Anna and Pamina is a source of beauty in an ugly world............her death is much more a downer than the retirement of the snake woman in the movie.I can certainly see why they could not film the book as written..............animal abusers do not go over well in Peoria ....... however, the book is a must read. I am sorry I just got around to it.

Part of the Library of America overview of some of Phillip K's longer works- usually his short stories hold up better than his full length novels because the number of ideas that came to him that he would try to pack into a single novel would tend to overwhelm a linear plot so much he had trouble keeping himself in check when he wrote longer pieces. That said- these are some of his best and deserve a look if only for the imagery and ideas.

Rather than provide a read-out of the stories included in this volume, I want to talk generally about Philip K. Dick the man and how his background impacted his writings. Philip K. Dick was an extremely paranoid man in part due to his upbringing, in part due to his era (the mid-20th century) and his drug abuse. All of these factors influenced his writing.All four books begin with the premise that the world has been devastated by some form of nuclear holocost. Survivors exist in various states in each book. The state is determined by his view of one possible future. I found the first to be most clever -- In "The Man in the High Castle, the assumption is that the USA lost WWII, and the axis powers control various parts of North America. In other books, those unaffected by the nuclear fallout leave to populate other planets, and those who have devolved or become "mutants" stay on Earth. In each book, government has significant control over everyones' lives, not so much like in the book "1984", but controls the population through drugs, mind control and the like.There are four books included in this one volume. This includes "The Man in the High Castle", "The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldridge", "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?", and "Ubik". Each are a lot of fun to read. The book is a page turner, and I plan to add more of his books to my library.

4 Great Novels in one great package. The book itself is very nicely bound and even has a little ribbon for a bookmark. These novels are some of Dick's best works and flow well together as a collection. Although Dick isn't the most articulate or aesthetically pleasing writer his ideas shine through in the writing and give the reader a positive experience. Many of his stories have inspired popular movies, including the cult classic: Blade Runner (1982). Every fan of Science Fiction should have this collection of classics in their library.

When I ordered the book I saw the title mentioning “being a girl” and I thought this was for preteen girls or young teens. On the back cover it says it is for “empowered teen girls”. But in the paragraph on the back it says it is for @navigating young adulthood” which in America means age 20 and older. The author is from Belgium where there are different laws regarding legal age for smoking and drinking alcohol and the author is 20 years old at the time of publication of her book.It is not typical in America to target a book for young girls that uses profanity, the S word: although one of the more innocent profane words is used in the first chapter. Also in a section discussing introverts and extroverts and socializing the two cartoon girls is are holding wine glasses. Smoking is mentioned on page 23, athough these things are although sometimes done illegally and without the consent of their parents by American minor girls they are not usually mentioned in the advice books for girls during the illegal aged years. The very first story in the book was about a social situation with a girl aged 13. I am just very confused about the target audience for this book. On page 25 there is a discussion of social anxiety and the first advice is to try and handle it on your own which is not good advice for a minor aged teen who should be guided to speak to their parents because the parents control access to counseling and medical doctors (vis a vis use of medical insurance use and paying the bills and of course adult help in finding reputable and appropriate healthcare providers).Chapter 2 starts off discussing puberty which leads me to think that this is a book for young teens. The next topic is tattoos. Although this does give good advice to think about it and make a thoughtful and careful decision, never once does it mention considering the issues with not being able to get some jobs with certain companies if you have a tattoo. Many common American employers in retail and restaurant who hire young entry level unskilled teenagers and college aged students or popular retailers which some 20+ seek to work at will not hire people with tattoos in certain areas of the body or of certain design types. My issue is when you have a child/13/young adult who relies on their parents for financial support, you shouldn’t be making independent decisions that prohibit them from gaining employment which helps them become a independent young adults and financially independent from their parents. Why were the employment issues with tattoos never mentioned? The author never discusses the topic of where to place it on the body either. Even the military will not let people in who have tattoos place in certain locations which are visible when wearing the uniform. With more American females entering the military (and with women even pushing for combat fighting ability), tattoos in military rules is something that needs to be considered. Even white-collar jobs perhaps this some will seek to work at in their 20s or later in life prohibit tattoos.All of these issues I mentioned occurred in the first 36 pages of this 240 page book. I stopped reading at page 36.I think this is book is best for girls in college. Rating 3 stars = It’s Okay Because of the confusing age target market. I was hoping this would be hip and good advice for girls aged 12-17 only.

This was rambling. It's girl advice. It think the target audience is 13 to 19. The part about divorce and parents talks about having to change schools, and there's a part about getting privacy from family and doing things like incognito internet browser and password protecting. Then there are other parts, like it says when you are dating someone you can arrange your class schedules to be together, which are more like college type advice. I really think it's high school age oriented, but looses focus from time to time.Then I got to page 124 which says, "If you're really unlucky, you can catch and STD [. . .] by wiping in the wrong direction after going number two." I just can't. That's not true. Maybe she means yeast infection, but yeast infection is not an STD. I just can't say it's good advice, because it has some stuff that is flat out wrong.I got this because I thought it would have a comic book or 'zine style. It has lots of pics, but not on every page. All the pics of Pages in the product description are pages with pics, but the book will have just text for pages at a time, then some illustrations. Pretty much it's a normal advice book style then with some pics.
