Picks up shortly where book 1 leaves off, jumping right into the action and throwing answers almost as quickly as questions. Hunter is exposed and vulnerable, but still determined to fulfill her duty and find the weapon her mother died to protect. Slade.... now not fully human himself, is just as lost, but far more dangerous as the Master of the Legion.The way Everly Frost builds and weaves their stories, both together and individually (though the book is from Hunter’s perspective) is wonderful and exciting. You can see where this is going and with Book 3 on the horizon, I am eager to see how this is resolved.Pros:- Hunter.... she is amazing on every level. Bit confused, but she is still learning a past she was never told.- Slade... oh Slade. Love him.- World building, especially the realms. Very interesting concept.- Well written.- New Characters: additions are well placed and intriguing.Cons:- Not quite a cliffhanger, but still a cliffhanger.
This story picks up right where the last left off. Hunter is dealing with the he loss of Slade and how that separation is affecting her. Meanwhile Slade is dealing with the affects of the changes her healing has caused on his life. There is so much going on in this book. I love the fact that all our answers from the previous book were answered. She also went more in depth with secondary characters. We got more of their story which makes it all that much more special. The passage of time was a bit confusing. So I’m not exactly sure how much time passed. It did feel like forever before certain aspects of the book came to fruition. Overall I’m entirely pleased with book. It’s exactly what I’ve come to expect from severely Frost. She never ceases to amaze me. Her characters have depth and are full of life. I cannot wait to find out what’s next for Hunter and Slade and the rest of the gang! Thanks again Everly. I look forward to continuing this adventure!
Assassin's Magic is an absolutely fantastic 2nd book of the Assassin's Mask series.The story continues with Hunter Cassidy leaving Slade Baines at the cabin in heartbreak and she continues to seek a way to destroy that weapon that can destroy them all. I love the how this book had me on a roller coaster of a ride for my emotions, I was enthralled from the get go. You'll get plenty of heartbreak that will tear you up, some laughs, plenty of action and of course love and passion. I wasn't disappointed at all and highly recommend the book!
Right from the first page I was drawn right back into the assassin's world and I found it near impossible to put it down until I had reached the jaw dropping, heart stopping end!This book far exceeded my expectations and I thoroughly enjoyed getting a more in-depth look at the world and characters. I especially loved the development between Hunter and Slade and watching them try to navigate their pasts and feelings.I can't wait to see what the next 2 books have in store for Hunter and her friends
The story is amazing! I love the writing! The moment I started reading I could not put it down. Hunter is fiercely loyal and always trying her best to be the best of who she can. I love the journey she is on and how much slade and the new characters in the book play a part. Even the existing characters hold a special place in her journey. What a twist! Can’t wait for for book 3!
The love I have for this series is very strong. For such a long time I have been wanting to read a Book with a kick ass Female Assassin and when I seen this series I was hooked from the start. The story has everything and I'm so excited to continue on to the 3rd Book and to get to know all of the characters even more.Everly Frost outdone herself with this!!!
Congratulations to Everly Frost for this amazing series. It was hard to stop and take a break while reading this author’s story. It’s extremely hard to find such an interesting and exciting author who not only writes intelligently but also provides top rated plots, characters and excitement in the stories. I’m really looking forward to the next book.
This book took me on a ride, both emotionally and plot wise. The characters get better with wvwry book, as does the action and i loved the overall story in this book. It was a fantastic ride filled with many twists and turns that fit well with the overall plot but were also very surprising.
