I bought this for a pre-college ESL composition class that I teach and it was a God-send. There was no set curriculum or book to work out of for the first session of my class and I decided to select a textbook for my 2nd and 3rd sessions. I could not have picked a better book. The lessons built upon each other nicely, there was a lot of practice with creating more complex sentences, and paragraphs, there was a grammar point for each unit and lots of practice paragraphs for examples of what a good paragraph should look like AND bad paragraphs for editing purposes. Loved it. Recommended it to the teacher who took over after me. :-)
This book is part of a book series. I have attended the seminar presented by the author. The book is excellent in teaching college level courses of English to non-speakers. It helps them make the transition from low level language acquisition programs to a more concrete and structure form. Purchase it and experience an organized method for teaching students how to write.
I love using this book in my classes. I just wish I didn't have to buy a separate book for putting it together.
